(This is a class for Royal Ranger Leaders but open to the public.  The fee’s for this type of course typically run around $125 to $150.00)

NRA Training Counselor Darell Freeman & Chief RSO Jason Dinger will be teaching this course. It’s recommended that you join the NRA prior to this course as you get a discount on your NRA RSO 2 year fee.  The NRA fee is separate from the class fee and you’ll register after the course to get your certification.  You will be asked to sign a Covid-Waiver form at the class.

 

The National Royal Ranger Office now recommends that Royal Ranger Commanders who are running Firearm related courses or ranges have NRA Certifications as either a Range Safety Officer or an NRA Instructor rating. This is for Liability purposes and Safety.

 

 


PURPOSE OF THIS CLASS

To develop NRA Certified Range Safety Officers who possess the knowledge, skills, and attitude essential to organizing, conducting, and supervising safe shooting activities and range operations.
Requirements:
⦁    21 years old or older
⦁    Attend the entire course.
⦁    Participate in discussions and practical exercises.

⦁    Introduction to the NRA Basic Range Safety Officer Course
⦁    The Role of the NRA Range Safety Officer and Range Standard Operating Procedures
⦁    Range Inspection and Range Rules
⦁    Range Safety Briefing
⦁    Emergency Procedures
⦁    Firearm Stoppages and Malfunctions
⦁    Test and Review
⦁    Demonstrate knowledge, skills, and attitudes necessary to organize, conduct, and supervise safe shooting activities and range operations.
⦁    Achieve an examination score of 90% or higher.
⦁    Finalize credentialing at nrainstructors.org
